Information technology (IT) and Decision Support System (DSS) have become important techniques for companies to manage and control their resources. With the help of IT, inner and outer sources of information have been easily evaluated at all levels of organization. Each business must have a specialized IT and DSS that can help them supply daily or short-term reports. Especially in management accounting field, where IT and DSS have contributed a significant role in helping usual tasks, most professionals should have enough skill to work with these two methods to be capable of accessing and analyzing multiple sources of data to suggest business decisions.The aim of the researcher is to explain the impacts of IT and DSS to the role of management accountants. Furthermore, in this research, the researcher will review the accountants’ understanding of IT and DSS and assume the future role of management accountants under the pressure of these methods. Lastly, the possibilities of replacing a real management accountant with these two techniques are also in concern of this study. From this research, management accountants would know what to do in order to catch up with IT and DSS development. Thus, they could utilize the best of these methods to boost the company’s productivity.
