In recent years, financial institutions, especially those in the banking industry, have experienced a dynamic and competitive environment. Competition at cross-borderscale make local banks adjusts their competitive position to sustain their financial performance. The banking industry is one of the most knowledge-intensive industries. Intellectual Capital generally represents the critical resource in the value creation process. The purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the relation between intellectual capital and firms' financial performance and its profitability by capturing the perception of intellectual capital in the banking industry and identifying perceived value of this organizational variable in the bank.
